We will spend the workshop practicing different surface techniques in a small group and each student will get to fire at least two pieces at the end (ready for pick-up the following week). There will be demonstrations, one on one instruction/assistance in trying out the covered techniques, and lots of opportunities for trouble-shooting. Students can either bring their own bisque pieces or I can provide them. This class will focus on low-fire glazing, in particular maiolica, and students will get use of all of my glazes and will receive the recipes in a hand-out at the end. I’ll have wine, tea, and light snacks so all you have to bring is your low fire bisqueware (unless you’re getting some from me), clothes you don’t mind getting a bit of glaze on, and a notebook.
